Animal Innovations Inc. introduces an intelligent injection system that automatically doses the exact amount of product needed for an animal, based on an animal’s weight. The system, called AIT, utilizes the animal’s actual weight – not the pen or lot average -- to dispense the exact label dosage of weight-based animal health products, within 0.1cc.
Either automatically or manually, the AIT receives the exact weight of
an individual animal and doses the product accordingly. This eliminates administering
treatments based on the lot or pen average on a set of cattle. By administering
the exact amount required for each individual animal, cattle are not underdosed
or overdosed. This insures each calf receives the proper amount of medication
for its size.
Unlike traditional syringes, the AIT is not limited to increments of 0.5ml or 1.0ml. Dosing within 0.1ml eliminates “rounding up” on dosages. It prevents larger animals in the group from receiving too little medication, improving product efficacies. It prevents smaller cattle in the group from receiving too much medication, reducing beef quality assurance issues and saving the producer money from excess medication.
The AIT also helps producers maintain BQA standards by automatically splitting all large doses into BQA-approved sizes. The AIT is fast, easy to use and reliable, and prevents costly dosage errors.
All injections given are logged into the AIT system with a date and time stamp, group or individual ID, the product and amount given. This information can then interface with major animal health computer programs.
