Mission Statement:

To provide readers with the most up-to-date information on the beef industry in concise, easy-to-read articles designed to increase overall awareness among the feedlot community. By knowing our readers interests, we strive to inform them, and by knowing our advertisers, we add value to their decisions.

FEED•LOT 's goal is to provide educational articles that are brief and easy to read, fitting in to the tight schedule of todays feedyard managers and cattlemen. In each issue we feature columns on Nutritional Choices, Cattle Market Economics, Agricultural Employee Management, and Livestock Marketing. We also provide ongoing reports on Health Issues, such as Bovine Respiratory Disease, BVD, Foot Rot, Vaccine and Antibiotic Choices, Hospital Pen Management and Feeding for Better Health. New Techologies and New Products are also highlighted every month, as are Industry Concerns and Recent Research.

With these goals in mind, we intend on emphasizing our editorial material on the following tentative schedule:

Please call if you want to send an ad in another form.Please be sure to include all graphics and fonts used in the ad. We can accept your ad on a floppy disk if it will fit. Inserts

  1. Preprinted material may be furnished, or arrangements can be made with publisher for quality printing at competitive rates.
  2. Mechanical specifications and delivery dates must be obtained from the publisher.
  3. Advertiser is requested to submit sample of insert or dummy for publisher's approval at least 2 weeks prior to closing date

General Rate Policy

  1. Rates and conditions given in this rate card are subject to change without notice.
  2. Orders beyond 6 issues at rates then prevailing.
  3. Contracts, orders or copy instructions containing conditions which conflict with publisher's policies will not be considered binding on the publisher.
  4. Orders containing incorrect rates will be regarded as clerical errors will be billed at current rates.
  5. Editorial style copy will carry label "Advertisement".
  6. No fraudulent or misleading advertising accepted. Copy subject to publisher's approval.
  7. The publisher may reject any advertising and an advertisement may be rejected at any time.
  8. No rebate for errors arising from the wrong insertion or omission of key numbers.
  9. It is understood and agreed that all orders must conform with the conditions set forth in this rate card, and that we reserve the right to eliminate from all orders any clauses that do not comply.
  10. Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for all content (including text, representation and illustrations) of advertisements printed, and also assume responsibility for any claims arising against the publisher.
  11. Publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or non-delivery in the event of an Act of God, action by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strikes (whether legal or illegal-labor), material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown, or any condition beyond the control of publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
  12. Minimum depth advertisements: 1 column, 1 inch: 2 columns, 2 inches: 3 colums, 3 inches.
  13. Advertiser and advertising agency are jointly and severally liable for payment. Contracts, insertion orders. Purchase orders, etc. containing sequential liability clauses will not be accepted.

Mechanical same day as closing.

Cancellations or changes not accepted after closing date. (Cover and insert cancellations cannot be accepted on less than 60 days notice preceding publication date.) Call regarding late placement and material deadlines. We will accommodate advertisers as much as possible.

Special Services

  1. Addressing and mailing services available.
  2. Mailing by county, zip code or state.
  3. Reader reply service. Commercial display advertising only.
  4. When publisher must provide art work, extra copy work, halftones or color separations, advertiser will be billed at cost.
  5. To obtain proofs when necessary, copy must be received at least 7 days before closing date. Changes and corrections to publisher by closing date.
  6. Old materials will be destroyed one year after insertion unless shipping instructions are supplied to publisher.
