Direct contact with Futures exchange floors now is available for grain, oilseed and livestock professions at Iowa Grain Company, according to an Iowa Grain Company news release. Iowa Grain's new Commercial Direct service also allows quicker fill and provides concise information to guide hedging decisions. "We've opened our doors directly to bona fide commercial users of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange agricultural markets," said Paul Nelson, Iowa Grain vice president in charge of the program. The very largest commercial market users always have dealt directly with the exchange floors, Nelson explained. "While most of our elevator and feedlot clients continue to use the services of an Introducing Broker, Iowa Grain also is seeing an increasing number of our more sophisticated mid-sized clients who insist on speaking to the floors and our market research staff directly." Nelson said that when clients receive direct access, information isn't filtered or delayed, which allows for quicker fills and reduces client uncertainty. "It's a healthy sigh of maturity in the customer base," he said. The Iowa Grain Commercial Direct program is appropriate for experienced hedgers who want to be a step closer to the markets. Dedicated analysts cover grains, oilseeds, cattle and the pork complex. These same analysts staff Iowa's commercial floor operations in order to stay in touch with the market tone. It also allows analysts to speak one-on-one with clients throughout the day. Iowa Grain Company is a clearing member of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. |
