NCBA Board Adopts New Policy

The NCBA Board of Directors adopted new and amended policies recently. Among the policies adopted:

  • Continue to support mandatory price reporting for packers controlling or slaughtering 50,000 head or more per year and to seek mandatory volume and price reporting for boxed beef, beef imports and beef exports.

  • Change WTO rules that define beef dumping as "selling below the cost of production."

  • Work to return any compensation paid by the EU on its beef ban to the U.S. beef industry for promotion and research.

  • Work to change the specifications for live cattle delivery so that weight is consistent.
