Texas Cattle Feeders Association recently held their Fed Beef Challenge between cattle feeders from Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. A total of 31 feedyards entered 52 pens of steers and heifers. First place pen of steers was won by Mc6 Cattle Feeders, Inc. at Hereford, Texas, with Tri State Feeders, Inc. winning second. In the heifer division, PACO Feed Yard, Ltd. at Friona took first. Second place went to Caprock #4 at Dalhart. Grand Champion individual carcass honors went to Caprock #4. The Manager's Evaluation contest was won by Denny Pounds with Cactus Feeders in Amarillo, and the "Judge Your Own Pen" contest was won by Les McNeill. |
