U.S. Beef and beef variety meat exports through April increased 29.2 percent in volume and 30.1 percent in value compared to exports through April 1999. U.S. beef export value totaled more than $1.3 million through April. Traditional primary export markets Japan, Mexico, Canada and South Korea accounted for more than 71.3 percent of export tonnage and 83.4 percent of export value. Russian trade data was overstated as it includes most 1999 food aid shipments and may be revised.
