A team of Polish foodservice, retail and distribution executives completed a week-long beef training in Texas recently thanks to the beef checkoff and the Texas Department of Agriculture's "Go Texan" program. Following the training, the team plans a foodservice-retail promotion sometime this spring. It will feature U.S. beef cooked in the Texas culinary style, including barbecue, grilling and Tex-Mex methods. On a related note, the American Dietetic Foundation recently presented its prestigious Award for Excellence for 2000 to the national beef checkoff program. The award recognizes the checkoff's longtime support of registered dietitians, the American Dietetic Association and its foundation. |
