Hammontree Farms Wins Oklahoma Steer Feedout



Thirty three ranches in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Nebraska participated in the 2001-2002 Oklahoma Steer Feedout at Oklahoma Feeders, Inc. in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Haskell Hammontree of Hammontree Farms, Hanna, Okla., was recognized as this year's feedout as the "Top of the Curve" producer for raising the pen of steers with the most consistency for daily gain and carcass measurements. Each of the five pen steers graded choice and had an average fat cover of 0.32 inches. The average ribeye area was 12.1 square inches and the average daily gain for the pen was 3.92 pounds. ©
