Feed Industry Short Course

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Kansas State University
(KSU) are co-sponsoring the Feed Manufacturing Short Course, June 7-16,
2004 in Manhattan, Kansas. Applicants for this nine-day course should
have a minimum of two years experience in the feed industry with the
goal of managing production, budgets and personnel in feed plants.
KSU’s Department of Grain Science and Industry facilities will
be utilized for the course and features a complete operating feed mill
designed specifically for teaching and research, production laboratories
and classrooms. The instructors will be experts with in-depth technical
knowledge in all aspects of feed manufacturing, including feed formulas,
nutrition, quality, purchasing, safety, mill design, equipment, grinding,
mixing, automation and cost control.
The Short course begins with registration on June 7, and concludes with
a banquet on the evening of June 16. For an additional $250, an optional
HACCP workshop is available to attendees, beginning on June 17 and concluding
at noon on June 18.
